The Boston Bruins have announced their preseason schedule for the upcoming 2026-27 season, which includes four exhibition games in September.

What's in the preseason schedule?

The Bruins will start their preseason at home against the Washington Capitals on Sunday, Sept. 20 at 5 p.m. ET.

They will then host the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday, Sept. 22 at 7 p.m.

Who are the opponents?

The team will face the Capitals and Flyers twice, with the away games taking place on Sept. 24 and 25.

The Bruins are coming off a strong season, currently standing 5th in the Eastern Conference with a 45-27 record and on a W2 streak as of July 4, 2026.

What happened last season?

Last season, the Bruins held six preseason games prior to the start of the season, where they went 4-2, including a 5-2 loss to the Capitals at TD Garden on Sept. 21, 2025.

The team bounced back and defeated the New York Rangers on Sept. 23 on the road 5-4 in overtime.

The Bruins won their final two preseason games, including a 3-1 win against the Capitals on Oct. 2 and a 4-1 win against the Rangers on Oct. 4.

What comes next?

The preseason slate is shortened this season due to an expanded regular season, with teams playing 84 games during the regular season, a change from 82.

The Bruins’ full 2026-27 schedule will be announced at a later date.

The team will participate in the 2026 NHL Draft at KeyBank Center in Buffalo, N.Y. on June 26-27, followed by Development Camp from June 29-July 2.
